There are currently several water stressed areas in the UK, including the South East. This means that there’s not enough stored water in reservoirs to keep up with demand and this can result in hose pipe bans and temporary abstraction from rivers.
Up to 80% of the water a commercial building consumes is used for non potable applications such as toilet flushing, irrigation and evaporative cooling. Many of these applications could be provided for by harvested rainwater, thanks to our Polypipe Rainstream water storage and re-use system.
Our system works by collecting, filtering and storing rainwater that falls on roofs and podiums and then circulating it back into the building.
