Polypipe provides drainage products for duo of Glasgow regeneration projects
A range of Polypipe’s plumbing and drainage products were chosen for affordable housing projects in Glasgow’s Sighthill and Barmulloch districts.
Working with main contractor CCG, Polypipe provided a range of its internal waste pipes, gutters, downpipes and a number of PolyFit plumbing fittings for the two developments.
Forming part of major regeneration works in the region by Transforming Communities: Glasgow – a partnership between the Glasgow Housing Association, Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government – the project saw the creation of 141 new homes for social rent in Sighthill, plus a total of 157 new homes being built on the site of the former Barmulloch Primary School. Selected by CCG for their light weight and durability, the products could be installed quickly and easily, offering on-site health and safety benefits while ensuring that all required deadlines could be met, allowing the new tenants to move into their homes as soon as possible.
The PolyFit system is also hand or tool demountable, offering maximum flexibility for installers, and can be used for all hot and cold water supply or heating applications.
