As a result of continued investment in pipe extrusion technology, we are pleased to share that the manufacturing of Polysewer pipe will be moving from our Polypipe Ulster site based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, to our Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation site in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.
This coincides with the installation of a new high-speed extrusion line - a multi-million-pound investment that will provide security of pipe supply and bring further carbon benefits from a consolidated manufacturing and distribution facility.
As a result of this investment, the profile of 225mm and 300mm Polysewer pipe has changed, and a new design of seal is being introduced. This new seal can be easily identified as the colour is changing from black to blue.

Identifying Label
The new pipe will bear the 'BU' suffix coding printed on the pipe (new codes will be communicated separately) and will feature the above sticker prominently placed on the socket of the pipe. These stickers will remain until the new products are firmly established in the market.
These new seals, rigorously tested in our UKAS accredited testing laboratory, boast full compatibility with all Polysewer pipe & fittings and maintain the same Polysewer Kitemark certification standards.
To ensure a seamless transition, our dedicated Polypipe representatives will personally visit your site to facilitate the changeover of loose seals and seal packs on fittings, at no additional cost. Expect a member of our team to reach out shortly to schedule a convenient time for this transition to occur.
It's essential to note that black seals will not be compatible with the new 225mm and 300mm pipes. However, blue seals will seamlessly work with both old and new pipe variants.
Should any of your customers or contractors require replacement blue seals to substitute their black seals, simply complete the form provided below. We'll take care of contacting them directly to arrange for this exchange, free of charge.
